Remote Learning

Remote Learning -

Following the school closure in March 2020 due to COVID 19, the school initially provided class learning packs each week for children to continue their learning at home. Some of these packs are provided as downloads below.

In June 2020 the school launched Google Classrooms and the main provider of remote learning for our children. Each class has a class page which allows class teachers to directly communicate and provide learning for children if they are unable to attend school due to COVID.

As well as this, there are several pages that all the children at the school have access to including Miss Moors class that provides weekly assemblies, St Anne's Sensational Story page that allows all children to access and share wonderful stories and books with each other and our Pastoral Support page that allows all the children at St Anne's to have access to our excellent welfare and pastoral support.

In January 2021, the school was once again closed to the majority of children and a full remote learning offer was put in place across the school.

Please refer to the sections below which will provide you with more information regarding the Remote Learning offer from St Anne's.

What is the remote learning offer for each class.

The government has stated that children should be engaged in remote learning for between 1 hour to 4 hours a day depending upon their age. Not all of this will be live learning experiences, some of this will be activities for children to complete independently at home. Each class has set a Remote Learning timetable for families to refer to. Details of these are on this website within each class page. Please refer to the navigation bar at the top of this page.

The schools Remote Learning Policy can also be viewed within the policies section of this website. Please click on the link below to access this section.

Log in details for Google Classroom

Each child at St Anne's has a log on for Google Classrooms. The majority of these have been issued and children have either accessed the remote learning in school or at home. If you require a re issue of your child's Google Classroom details please contact the school office.

Access to ICT equipment

You can access Google Classroom on any internet enabled device including laptops, chrome books, desk tops and smart phones. Obviously some devices are easier to use than others. The school is able to provide families with appropriate ICT equipment to enable their children's to access Google Classrooms at home. To request ICT equipment, please click on the link below and request this.

Reading at home

Reading at home is really important. We strongly recommend that children take part in some form of quiet reading each day. For KS1 children we suggest 20 mins with a book a day. Encourage them to read books independently but if they are not at that level yet, then have an adult read with them.

For KS2 children we would suggest anything from 30 mins to 45 mins of quiet daily reading.

To support and engage children we have opened up our Accelerated Reader Quiz facility. To access this, please click on the link below or enter the URL address into a new tab. Children can log on in the same way they would at school

As on Monday 18th of January book swaps will be available from the foyer at the front of the school. Please make sure you bring our old school books in to swap.
