Class 2

Class 2 Teacher

Mrs Robinson is the teacher in Class 2. She has a love for David Walliams stories and enjoys reading these to her class.

School P.E. days

This term we will be doing Forest School every Wednesday afternoon. Children come to school in their Forest School clothes and spend the day in them. All children are required to wear trousers and long sleeved tops for Forest School along with appropriate footwear. It is worth checking the weather each week and making sure children have appropriate clothing as needed such as waterproofs, sun hats, sun cream etc.

Welcome to Class 2

As we move in to summer term we have lots more exciting learning. we continue to look at monarchs in history before moving on to coasts in Geography. In science we will be studying life cycles which will include caring for caterpillars and watching them transform into butterflies. We learn about The Torah in R.E. and study relationship and sex education in P.S.H.E.

As the weather is hopefully set to get warmer it is important for children to have a water bottle with them each day and to bring sun hats and sun cream.

We will be continuing to follow Little Wandle for our reading and spelling lessons. If you would like more information on this and advice on how to support your child at home please visit the website using the link below.

Homework

Each week homework will be shared on Class Dojo.

Reading

We ask that children read at least 4 times a week for about 15 minutes each time. Reading regularly helps children with spelling, imagination and understanding. When your child reads please record this in their reading record.

Spellings

Each week spellings will be sent home for the week. These will be based on our phonics from the week.

Numbots

Numbots logins will be in the children's reading records. Regular practice will help with addition and subtraction. We recommend 25 minutes a week split into several short sessions.

Optional Maths

Children can take home maths practice sheets if they would like extra work linked to what we have been learning in class.
